Parents-In-Action, PIA, is the parent organization of SVCA that raises funds to support SVCA and teachers with special projects. This organization has two major fundraisers every year, the Thanksgiving Luncheon in November and the Annual Auction in May. In addition to these fundraisers, the PIA also administers the collection of Box Tops and Campbell’s soup labels. Other ways to raise money include registering your Bonuscard at Martin’s Food Store, registering your MVP card at Food Lion, and registering your Target VisaCard on the Target website.
The proceeds from the auction, the luncheon, and these other outside contacts enable the PIA to complete projects such as fencing around the playground and renovation of the gym locker rooms. These monies also allow our teachers to fulfill needs that they may have in their classrooms. Most recently, the Thanksgiving Luncheon profits provided financial support for the teachers to attend the ACSI Educators Convention in Washington, D.C.
